We continue to communicate with the city council on the community’s opposition. The below email from John Anagnost, the Raleigh City Planner, provides the hearing notice, case information, and instructions to allocate speaking time to the board if you would like to support that.
Attached is a memo for homeowners to personalize and send as a final appeal to the Mayor and City Council Members. You can email the mayor at mary-ann.baldwin@raleighnc.gov and the city council at citycouncilmembers@raleighnc.gov. We encourage all owners to voice their opposition in this final appeal to the rezoning.

The City Council hearing allows eight minutes for opposition comments, which is then divided evenly among the number of speakers signed up. When there are many speakers signed up, the City Council will sometimes allow additional time for comments. The City Council can also allow speakers to give their allotted time to another speaker. If you would like to have seven minutes to speak, you may wish to ask other people to sign up who are willing to give you their time. If there is a large number of speakers, you can request extra time for comments. If extra time is granted for opposition comments, an equal amount of extra time will also be given to the applicant or people commenting in favor. If you want to pursue these strategies, I recommend emailing the City Clerk (cityclerkpetition@raleighnc.gov) and the Mayor (mary-ann.baldwin@raleighnc.gov) in advance to communicate that. Please be aware that the City Council can decline any special requests. Please send your presentation to councilpresentation@raleighnc.gov by this Thursday, April 1 at 5:00 PM.
